Property tax increase should be zero
The District of Lantzville, B.C. came through with a projected tax increase of 11 per cent.
Council, after a lot of hard work, trimmed down expenses and came up that there would be zero per cent increase in taxes this year. Why? Council says that zero per cent sends a message that we genuinely care about the tough times people are experiencing right now.
The City of Duncan and the Municipality of North Cowichan should take note and adopt the same policy when it comes to dealing with property taxes.
