Protesters at MLA’s office like logging protesters

I was really saddened to hear of the struggles Sonia Furstenau, our MLA, and her staff are having at her office in Duncan, forcing them to move.

I can only imagine the stress they must be feeling. It is terrible with people trying to stop them from working and blocking their access to the office. I imagine this how the workers at Fairy Creek feel when they are blocked from doing their work. People are stopping them from completing their tasks and moving their equipment in. They too are hard working people simply trying to carry out their assigned tasks. This is despite the workers being properly authorized to work and Pacheedaht people cannot get to work despite the duly elected council supporting this initiative and Teal Jones is working on a duly authorized permit from the government. But the protesters feel they can do what they will and should be OK and just accepted.

Ironically it is not unlike the protesters at Sonia’s office with staff being blocked by protesters. It really is terrible when other people try to intimidate people who are just trying to get to work and carry on with their lives and earn an income.
