Recycling needs a re-do

Our recycling system, as it stands, is redundant and needs revamping.

Presently if one has to drive to take ones glass, plastic, paint cans, Styrofoam, even dog food bags and other items one can simultaneously take the few items one could put in the recycling bin. Instead of hiring people to sort the recycling the CVRD has decided to hire bin inspectors. Now what happens when a person has illegal stuff in his bin? A warning note and then refusal to take his recycling. In a utopian society the owner would then fish out the offending matter and learn his lesson to be more careful the next time. Unfortunately we do not live in a fantasy society thus the owner will do either a) throw the entire works in the garbage or b) dump it on someone else’s property to deal with. What was the CVRD thinking?
