Summer best time to pave

Re: “Traffic Lights thrown out by paving”

The paving in Duncan has caused chaos. But summer is the best time to pave, even on the Island. The traffic lights are thrown off by the paving. By the nature of the process, the black rings in the pavement to trigger the lights have been covered by new pavement. This mean they are not going to work. As it would be dangerous to not have the left turn lights, they have been set to activate every rotation. You will appreciate this when you do need a left turn.

Take heart, soon they will come along and dig up the spot for the sensors and the lights will be back to normal as we would all like.

Unfortunately, if you are behind one of the 15 per cent of people that do not know you have to be on the sensor, which is easily recognisable by the black ring, and not sitting on the pedestrian crosswalk, you will be waiting even longer.

Also unfortunately, to put in the sensors, the roads will have to be blocked off again. But, that may be postponed until winter when we have less traffic.

I hope you appreciate my glee one day when I was sad to realize I was not going to be quick enough to activate the signal and was preparing to slow down, when it gave me the green! I was amazed! And that’s how I puzzled all of this out.
