Letter: Time to make official residence historic showpiece

Concerns about our prime minister’s official residence understandable from health and safety angles

Time to make official residence historic showpiece

Dear Alistair [MacGregor, MP]:

Concerns about our prime minister’s decrepit official residence are understandable from health and safety angles.

I sincerely hope 24 Sussex Drive, owned by all Canadians, is now renovated to green-energy and structural limits, while keeping all possible heritage values of our 1867 structure.

Canadians deserve an official residence that is a historic showpiece and a functional home for our PM.

I also hope cost overruns are kept to a minimum.

Yours in functional heritage,

Peter W. Rusland

Duncan
