Mollycoddling response to snowstorms ridiculous

I find the school closures, lack of garbage pick-up/recycling pick-up ridiculous.

School has been closed four out of five days this week. No one came to pick up our recycling/compost last week. Elderly people lugging their stuff to the curb only to have to lug it back. No notification from North Cowichan that no one was coming for pick-up.

I’m a tax payer and should get these services. It’s not a blizzard folks, it’s a bit of snow — shovel, dig out your car, help your neighbour and get on with it. You SHOULD have snow tires in winter regardless. Be responsible; not going to work because you don’t have proper tires on your car? NO EXCUSE. What an entitled bunch. Should we close the schools when there is heavy fog? How about rain? Hydroplaning could happen.

Realize that weather conditions are changing all over the world. Be prepared and stop mollycoddling our adult citizens and our children and as Dory would say from Finding Nemo, “Keep on swimming”.
