On the recent death of three orcas

Our consumerist individualist society/economy/culture is killing intelligent compassionate creatures all around us.

A Pacific island activist said, “The dragon of our arrogance will destroy us.” …and, as it appears, much else, as well.

Earth’s biosphere is one living community of communities of living things. May our guilt and our grief take effect as humility, honouring all living creatures, without whom we cannot live. We humans are nothing but aspects of an inter-related and inter-dependent whole living Creation. As we act as if we were separate, independent and entitled, we tear apart fragile webs of life without which we cannot exist.

Humility might not be enough to save us, but in it there is dignity at least.
