Politics are just relationships, not black and white

Why do democracies so often boil down to black or white choices like Liberal Conservative, Democrat/Republican, Brexit/Stay?

In the real world we make compromises trying to balance responsibilities, hopes and respect for others. We don’t talk about “winners” and “losers” when we make these choices.

A truly representative form of government includes everyone’s voice so that huge swings in policy are less common. B.C. has a history of such swings as we veered from NDP to Liberal/Socred “majorities” that may not even have 50 per cent of the popular vote. We live in a colourful world — not black and white. Please consider voting ProRep [proportional representation] in the upcoming referendum.
