Proportional representation good democratic step

Almost two million more voted for Clinton than Trump, yet he becomes the president of U.S.A. Democracy loses, again.

Almost two million more voted for Clinton than Trump, yet he becomes the president of U.S.A. Democracy loses, again.

The first step is to have mandatory voting, a must to live in a democracy, with a “none of the above” on every ballot as we have the right to dissent. There are other things that are needed but to climb the stair to democracy that is the first step or there is no advancement to democracy. Proportional representation may follow.

In our last election proportional representation would have had, 133 Liberals, 107 Conservatives, 66 NDP, 15 Bloc Quebecois and 11 Green, with no majority. That would be great as the best legislation has always been passed by minority governments.

A majority government always does what it pleases, for whom it pleases; and to hell with the people as long as “the boys in short pants” get what they want. The one per cent must prevail.
