Reinstate the Martin Mars
Re: fire fighting machines (i.e. helicopters or the Martin Mars).
I want to know why the federal/provincial government refuse to reinstate this massive fire fighting plane vs. helicopters, when this plane is much more efficient than six to eight choppers. This plane can drop much more water in one sweep than the heli; they only have a small bucket, it’s like peeing in the ocean.
Helicopters charge out at least $1,500 per hour; what the Martin charges an hour I don’t know, but I still feel in the long run it would be cheaper and more efficient.
Come on people, let’s get htis plane reinstated.
