SNA making tyrannical demands

I have no connection to SNA, or VIMC, other than I live in North Cowichan, am the chairman of the 744 air cadet sponsoring committee, am registered with Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of BC, and have a few friends that live in Sahtlam.

I thought the process was very fair, and even accommodated the many out of order demands of the “no” side, in the public meeting. Only the “no” side had to be repeatedly called to order, when they both applauded any support for their side, or negative noises for any evidence that was professional, backed by much experience, in favour of the zoning change.

There was overwhelming evidence, and support for the passing of the zoning change. Based on the numbers of speeches, 29 in favour and only eight opposed. [The Citizen counted 30 for and 12 opposed, with more speakers to come Thursday night.] Also in the reported numbers of letters sent in by those not able to attend, over 800 in favour, and near 200 opposed. Those in favour also had hundreds of people behind them in the form of petition, and comunity group numbers.

As before in all the hearings and court cases, the “no” side has been proven to ignore accepted process, overwhelming evidence, judgment and reason in a format they ultimately set up, by taking VIMC to court, twice, and this extensive public hearing in hopes of getting their way, whereas the overwhelming majority of the community and the VIMC have gone far and above what is reasonable, in their compromises to the tyrannical demands of the SNA. Even forgoing their legal right to be compensated, not once, but twice, for the inconveniences, delays, and costs, caused by SNA, in previous legal proceedings.

The noise generated by the dissenting side both in the public hearing, and in the social media has been as annoying to the majority of the community as they say the sound of the track is to the the very loud, tyrannical, minority group, that will not accept fair, professional judgements by the courts, and their fellow comunity members. Now blaming the process they demanded, when they didn’t get their way.
