Station Street Park plan good, but why bother with Whistler Street?
The overall plan for the Station Street Park looks very pleasing and will be a positive addition to our downtown. Also, the proposed washrooms would be an excellent addition — but are actually needed far more in the area between the Post Office and City Hall.
It is rather astonishing to see food trucks as a feature when one of the original purposes of sprucing up the park was to attract more business to local cafés and restaurants. Won’t food trucks actually take business away from them?
With regard to the Whistler Street development, I am totally mystified at the choice of such a location. Wow! At a time when there are so many special needs in our community, is it wise to make an investment there? For whose benefit is this being done? For anyone not familiar with this location I would recommend that you take a look at it. Then, please comment on your thoughts here!
