Universal income would put Canada financially ahead

There is a way that governments can fix Canada. Start a universal monthly income for everyone with a SIN number, a bank or credit union account and have filed income tax. Fifteen hundred is enough, as there are two people in a family; for a single parent the oldest child qualifies.

No more hand-outs, welfare people would not be the penny police that is 20 to 30 per cent of the taxes, so is education. No more workers compensation or old age security except for top up after 65. Many expenses for the government just gone. We would be money ahead, taxes would fall. It has been done with success in a number of countries; we are just behind the times. We probably would have to get rid of political parties but it would work for people.
