Use of ICBC as cash cow reprehensible

Miss [Sonia] Furstenau [MLA]:

I have been reading and watching about this fiasco of a Crown corporation operation [ICBC]. To me it seems a very badly run public service that is missing the original intention of its introduction to the B.C public some years ago.

We, the public, were not told that this Crown corporation would be used as a cash cow for the government whenever they felt like using a few million dollars. That was never allotted as an alternative tax.

Had the government any intention of showing some form of honesty, it is possible that they could be exonerated? This is not petty larceny, this is defrauding a business of its funds earned, to enable it to do business in a proper fiscal manner, thereby offering the public each year what was the original intention.

Miss Furstenau, please do your best to remove this insurance company out of the clutches of this or any government. I deem these actions perpetrated by our government as totally reprehensible.
