Weaver’s comments cast doubt on Furstenau
On May 23, 2020, former B.C. Green party leader MLA Andrew Weaver, made a news comment about [Cowichan Valley MLA] Sonia [Furstenau]’s proposed four-day work week. He said that a four-day work week is far more complicated than just a few sound bites made by Sonia. He said she should have done her research on the topic before shooting off from the hip.
Andrew also said that he wanted to call the minority NDP down and have the province go to a provincial election in regards to the LNG development. He says that could not happen because Sonia would not agree and was only interested in winning re-election. This proves that Sonia’s number one agenda sitting as an MLA is to receive her basic taxpayer funded salary of $111,024.19 per year and an extra $27,756.05 per year taking on the role as leader of the third party, over policy making and values of her B.C. Green party.
Andrew Weaver, when resigning as leader of the B.C. Green party, and also resigning as a member of the B.C. Green party to sit as an independent MLA, he said it was because of family and medical issues. That being said, we can also conclude that he resigned as a member of the B.C. Green party because of differences with Sonia Furstenau.
The next B.C. provincial election will be held on Oct. 16, 2021. Take a hard look at the election ballot before deciding for who to vote for. Sonia Furstenau is our current MLA, but with Andrew Weaver’s comments, makes the Cowichan Valley electoral riding an embarrassment to the taxpayers in this riding, let alone what taxpayers in other B.C. electoral ridings are also thinking, when Sonia Furstenau’s wages is more important than B.C. Green party policies. Unbelievable!
