What are the masses going to do for work?

Sonja Clark has a good point about the weeping wealthy re: tax.
No one becomes wealthy without the use of natural resources and the labour of people. There may be some who inherited it. Few work harder than the person working from daylight to dark picking recyclables along roadways.
With automation and digital robotics there is not enough work for people. What are the masses to do?
