Why not use old Rona building for new police detachment?
I have a simple question. Forty million dollars for a new RCMP building, when the old Rona building is still sitting empty after, what? Three to four years? Lots of room to reconstruct the inside into offices and cells.
Indoor parking so police cars don’t get frozen or snowed on in the winter. An enclosed and fenced lot!
Close to the highway. Not sure what the logistics are but in this day and age of “going green” over everything, why are we wasting the supplies to build a new building when one is sitting empty and serviceable? Everything in this world DOES NOT have to be brand spanking new…such a shame.
