Berard pots four as Flickers win big on busy weekend

All four Cowichan teams were in action in the Vancouver Island Ladies Field Hockey Association last weekend, with mostly positive results.

All four Cowichan teams were in action in the Vancouver Island Ladies Field Hockey Association last weekend, with mixed but mostly positive results.

In Div. 1, Jenna Berard led the way with four goals as the Cowichan Flickers crushed Lynx I 7-0. Emma Dame, Sara Goodman and Sophia Murray also scored for Cowichan.

The Cowichan Kestrels put up a pair of victories in Div. 3, beating the Oak Bay Devils 3-0 and Lynx III 5-3. Morgan Battie, Teresa Gregus and Hayley Picard scored against the Devils. Gregus added a hat trick against Lynx III, while Picard and Chloe Langkammer also found the back of the net.

Also in Div. 3, the Cowichan Stellers got both their goals from Steph Yeats as they shut out the Oak Bay Demons 2-0.

In Div. 2, The Cowichan Cardinals lost to the Sailors twice. Hayley Koers scored the Cardinals' lone goal in a 2-1 loss, and in the other game, the Cowichan team was beaten 3-0.
