Only one of Cowichan’s two Over 35 men’s soccer teams was in action last weekend, but both have big games coming up.

The Masters B Cowichan Steelheads played to a 0-0 tie against Prospect Lake at Layritz Park last Friday, their second consecutive draw after three straight losses to begin the season. Edrissa Gassama earned the shutout in goal, and Goran Jandric was named Cowichan’s game MVP.

The Masters A Cowichan 49ers had the Thanksgiving weekend off, but will host UVic Alumni this Friday in a huge game. The match at the Sherman Road turf at 7:30 p.m. could be a major factor in sorting out the final standings.

The Steelheads will be in action at home next Saturday, hosting Lakehill Monkey Tree at the Sherman Road turf at 6 p.m.
