Young tennis players packed the courts at the South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club for the 28th annual Biondo Junior Grass Court Championships.

Young tennis players packed the courts at the South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club from July 29 to Aug. 1 for the 28th annual Biondo Junior Grass Court Championships.

Winners included:

Boys U12: Jacob Dubas over Thomas Friesen

Boys U14 singles: Jackson Boone over Zach Scott

Boys U16 singles: Isaac Dee over Todd He

Boys U18 singles: Sebastian Dee over Andrew Oh

Girls U12 singles: Veronica Dee over Mahial Rai

Girls U14 singles: Hana Cho over Grace Haugen

Boys U12 doubles: Thomas Friesen and Zach Scott over Jacob and Matthew Dubas

Boys U14 doubles: Todd He and Luka Roberts over Justin Friesen and Aaron Ungprasert

Boys U18 doubles: Sebastian Dee and Andrew Oh over Noah Bettauer and Tony Liu

Girls U14 doubles: Hana Cho and Sonia Skobareva over Grace Haugen and Jessa Michieli

The SCLTC will play host to one more tournament this summer: the Kay Wilson Memorial Mixed Doubles Triple Knockout on Aug. 19-21.
