Oliver Castle of Shawnigan Lake took the lead late to claim gold in the boys 2000 metres event at the 2016 BC Summer Games in Abbotsford.
As the leading group was slowly whittled down, the long-legged Castle never looked in trouble. After entering the final turn in second, Castle powered to the lead and never looked back.
Findlay Day of Victoria finished second, followed by Tyson Baker of Surrey.
