Duncan rower Michael Braithwaite wrapped up the World Cup season with a second-place finish in the B final of the men's quad at the third stage of the tour in Lucerne, Switzerland last week.
Braithwaite's crew was just over a second behind the Italian crew in the B final. After placing fourth in their heat, the Canadian quad won the repechage, edging out the Italians. They then finished sixth in a very tough semifinal.
The quad previously won a bronze medal at the second stage of the World Cup in France.
Following the Lucerne events, the Canadian team returned home to prepare for the World Rowing Championships that begin Aug. 24 in Amsterdam.
