Earlier this month, with his school’s teams competing at both the provincial rugby championships and national rowing regatta on the same weekend, Brentwood College head of school Bud Patel managed to travel to both events to show his support for student-athletes.
Patel made the trip to St. Catherines, Ont. for the final day of rowing on Sunday, June 5, immediately after watching Brentwood teams at the provincial rugby championships in Abbotsford the day before, and was pleased with what he saw.
“Our teams, like our whole school, are proud to represent the Cowichan Valley at these provincial and national events,” Patel said. “We are so happy for not only our own student-athletes but for all participants from around the province and the nation that were able to, after a three-year COVID-19-induced hiatus, compete in high school athletics once again. We will never take this for granted and thank the organizers of these events.”
