Just six days after the Cowichan Valley Capitals beat the Prince George Spruce Kings at the Island Savings Centre, the Spruce Kings handed the Caps a loss in Prince George.

The Spruce Kings won 3-0 on their own in the rematch on Friday night. Prince George scored two powerplay goals in the first period, then added another at even strength in the second. Logan Neaton made 22 saves for the shutout, while Cowichan’s Jack Grant stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced.

Prince George scored on two of their eight powerplay opportunities, while Cowichan was blanked on their four chances.

Friday’s contest was the first of a three-game road trip for the Caps, who head to Langley for a Saturday-night tilt with the Rivermen.
