Cowichan LMG opened the Div. 1 men’s soccer season on Saturday with a 3-0 loss to Westcastle United at Westhills Stadium.
Westcastle scored their opening goal late in the first half, then added two more in the second half.
Westcastle finished second in Div. 1 last season with 42 points in 18 games. Cowichan placed fourth with 31 points in 17 matches.
Cowichan will be back in action this Friday, at home against Nanaimo United at 7:30 p.m. Nanaimo defeated Westcastle 3-0 in the season opener for both teams on Oct. 2.
