Duncan Christian hosts Island girls volleyball finals this weekend

DCS joined by 11 other teams, including Lake Cowichan

Two berths in the provincial championships will be on the line this weekend as Duncan Christian School hosts the Island single-A girls volleyball championships.

Twelve teams, including the host Chargers, will vie for the top spots. DCS will play in a pool along with Lake Cowichan School, Nanaimo Christian and Cedar Community Secondary.

All pool games will take place on Friday. The Chargers will face the Lakers at 9:30 a.m., Cedar at 1:15 p.m. and Nanaimo Christian at 5 p.m. Lake Cowichan will also play NCS at 1:15 p.m. and Cedar at 5 p.m.

Playoffs on Saturday start at 8:30 a.m., with the third-place game at 4 p.m., and the final at 5:30 p.m.

Provincials will be hosted by Mt. Sentinel Secondary in South Slocan on Dec. 2-4.
