Gymnast Mia Butcher, who lives in Duncan and trains with Falcon Gymnastics, has had a strong start to her first season at Level 7 of the Junior Olympic program.

Butcher collected medals in each of her first three competitions this season, starting with a gold on the uneven bars at the Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational in Langley, where she also placed fourth all-around.

Butcher then claimed the floor choreography award and a team silver medal at the Carol Lenz Memorial Invitational in Surrey, and added a silver on the uneven bars at the Twisters Invitational in Abbotsford.

Next up for Butcher is the 35th annual Garden City Invitational, hosted by her own club in Victoria on the May long weekend.
