Brady Estabrook had two goals and an assist and Logan Walker had one of each as the Kerry Park Islanders came back from an early 2-0 deficit to beat the Saanich Predators 6-3 last Saturday in their only game of the weekend.

The Predators scored twice inside the first two minutes of the game at Kerry Park Arena, but the Isles came back with a powerplay goal from Mateo Sjoberg at 3:34 of the first period. Estabrook tied the score early in the second, and goals by Kellan Bates and Reid Fitzpatrick had the Isles up 4-2 after 40 minutes. Saanich got one back on a third-period powerplay, but Estabrook and Walker put the game away down the stretch.

Fitzpatrick, Bates and Sjoberg all finished the night with a goal and an assist, and captain Matt Baird had two helpers. Eric Young made 22 saves as the Isles outshot the Preds 40-25.

Estabrook now has 10 goals and six assists in 12 games since coming to Kerry Park in a trade with the Lake Cowichan Kraken. Walker leads the Isles in scoring with 20 points on nine goals and 11 helpers in 16 games.

The Isles sit third in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League’s North Division, with 10 wins and eight losses. They have just one game coming up again this weekend as they play host to the Peninsula Panthers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
