Former Cap Geary commits to Bowdoin College

Forward Patrick Geary has become the latest player from the Cowichan Valley Capitals to commit to a college hockey team for the 2016-17 season.

Geary, who played one season with the Caps to round out his junior career, will head to Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine to play NCAA Div. III hockey with the Polar Bears.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Libertyville, Ill. played in 57 of the Capitals’ 58 games last season and finished third on the team with 18 goals and fifth with 35 points. His 86 penalty minutes were a team high. He added one assist and four penalty minutes in six playoff games.

Other players from the 2015-16 Capitals team to commit to college teams include Josh Adkins and Jake Switzer (Div. III Concordia Wisconsin), Ryan Burton (Div. I Union), Corey Hoffman (Div. I Cornell), Kade Kehoe (Div. I Colorado College), and Mitch Meek (Div. I Clarkson).
