BC Flag Football is helping to send a Vancouver Island senior women’s flag football team to the Canadian nationals this summer and eligible athletes can try out to be on the team.

The Cowichan Woman’s Football League’s Chris Mann said there will be three tryout camps for the big event being held in Halifax, N.S. starting June 30.

The camps will be at McAdam Park, home of the CWFL, on April 5 and April 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and April 16 from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. at a cost of $45 per player. Players must be aged 19 and over.

“I’m looking for at least 20 women who would be interested in making a commitment to at least participate in this first time event, with the knowledge that BC Football is motivated to join the Flag momentum that is sweeping the world,” Mann said.

Registration for the camps must be confirmed by April 3.

Those interested can give Mann a call at: 250-748-9385 or e-mail westiemanor@shaw.ca.
