Junior B Thunder still looking for players to fill out roster

With the first games of the 2014 season on the horizon, the Cowichan Valley's resurrected junior B lacrosse team is still looking for players to round out the roster. Things have looked promising in the early going as the Cowichan Valley Lacrosse Association has rebuilt its junior and intermediate programs, but there is room for a few more junior (1993-1995 birth years) players.

"We have lots of intermediate players but we are short on juniors," said Lorne Winship, who will serve as governor for both teams. "The juniors will have to pull up intermediate players for help."

Winship, who coached the midget A1 Cowichan Thunder to a bronze medal at provincials last year, will guide the intermediate team, while Neil Gailey, an assistant with the junior A Victoria Shamrocks in 2013, will be head coach for the Cowichan junior B team.

Players interested in joining the junior B team should contact Lorne Winship at 250-715-0447 or email gumbymel@shaw.ca
