The Lake Cowichan Kraken have signed Andrew White from the Connecticut Jr Rangers U18 program.

The Lake Cowichan Kraken have gone southeast to find the player they were looking for.

All the way from the East Hartford, CT and Connecticut Jr Rangers U18 program, forward Andrew White racked up eight goals and 27 assists in just 16 games for the Rangers last season.

His numbers were good enough for White to set the organization’s all-time single-season assists record. Led by White, the Rangers won their first ever USPHL U18 division championship.

“White is a high IQ playmaking forward with a great hockey sense and vision for the ice,” said a release issued by the Kraken. “This was on display recently as he scored a goal and added two assists in the Kraken’s last pre-season game against the Nanaimo Buccaneers. We look forward to watching Andrew continue to develop his skills this season in a Kraken uniform.”

Previous signings this summer include: forwards Dayton Vandepeear of Surrey, Vancouver product Charlie Williams, Duncan locals Rees Aebischer and Kyler Smith, and defender Rylan Hildebrand of Sherwood Park, Alta.
