Lakers host U11 hockey tournament, place fifth

Cowichan Valley came second, falling to Campbell River in the final game

Eight teams gathered in Lake Cowichan for the U11 South Shore Cabinetry Lakers home tournament Nov. 25-27.

The final game, held on Nov. 27, featured Campbell River and Cowichan Valley with Campbell River winning the game 9-3 to take the tournament title.

The bronze medal game had Vancouver besting Kerry Park by a 6-3 score.

The host Lake Cowichan Lakers placed fifth, falling to Oceanside 11-4 in their final game of the tournament.

In their first victory of the season, Sooke beat Alberni Valley 4-3 for seventh and eighth place respectively.
