Narrow loss for U18 Mid Island Lightning to Pacific Rim

The U18 Mid Island Lightning lost a close 9-7 game against Pacific Rim in Victoria last Sunday.

Clayton Vickers and Dawson Webb each scored twice, while Michael Shepherd, Jack Sanderson and Hunter Hieta had one goal apiece.

Mid Island opened the scoring just 30 seconds in, then were held at bay in the second quarter before coming out strong in the third and outscoring Pacific Rim 4-2. The Lightning added two more in the fourth.

The U18 Lightning play a doubleheader against Nanaimo at the Cowichan Sportsplex this Sunday, with games at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The U15 Lightning are also at home this Sunday, hosting Victoria at the Sportsplex at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
