The Duncan Christian School Chargers made huge progress at the B.C. Christian Schools junior girls basketball championships last weekend.

The Duncan Christian School Chargers made huge progress as the hosts of the B.C. Christian Schools junior girls basketball championships last weekend.

“It was a good learning experience,” DCS athletic director Tom Veenstra said. “Our coaches always do a great job of making it a great learning and positive experience.”

After a tough opening game against Langley Christian, the young Chargers improved for strong outings against Surrey Christian and Unity Christian.

Player of the game awards went to Jaymie Brandsma against Langley, Zoe Wall, who scored a team-high 10 points, against Surrey, and Jordan Marsh against Unity.

Anna Corbett was named a tournament all-star, while Kristine Williams had a team-high eight points against Unity and was the only DCS player to put up points in all three games.
