The successful soccer camp led by Emily Zurrer and hosted by Tide Soccer Academy earlier this month resulted in a donation of $1,045 to KidSport Cowichan.

Zurrer, who rose from the Cowichan Valley Soccer Association to represent Canada at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in 2012, led the camp along with her former teammate Carm Moscato, drawing dozens of local athletes to the Sherman Road soccer turf.

The Tide Soccer Academy has summer camps coming up in July and August as well.

The one week camps will run from 9 a.m. to noon for ages six-14 and from 9-10 a.m. for ages four and five.

The first camp will go from July 11 to 15, and the second from Aug. 8 to 12. Both camps will take place at the Sherman Road turf, and include a Tide Summer Camp training shirt.
