Figure skaters from the Duncan and Kerry Park clubs put together some outstanding results at the Vancouver Island Interclub competition at Kerry Park Arena last month.
The Duncan Skating Club came home with several medals, including gold for Anika Olson in Star 2 Group 5; silver for Raleigh Rodney in Star 2 Group 2, Aiden Wetzel-Eden in Star 2 Boys, and Sophia Ryan in Star 3 Group 4; and bronze for Lyla deLeeuw in Star 2 Group 3, Austyn Woodward in Star 2 Group 3, Brooke Wipplinger in Showcase 1 Individual, and Brianna Ellison in Bronze Interpretive. Kori Kaleb received merit in Star 2 Group 3.
Other results included second place for Sophia Hodgins in Silver Interpretive, fourth for Ryley McDonald in Star 5 Girls 13 & over, fifth for Cecilia Faustino in Star 10 Women Free, eighth for Peyton Kong in Star 5 Girls 13 & over, and 12th for DelRae Olson in Star 5 Girls 13 & over.
From Kerry Park, in Star 1 Group 2, Alanna Finlay and Evelyn Wilke received merit. In Star 1 Group 4, Makena Breuker and Elora Waardenburg received bronze and Mikalah Taylor received merit. In Star 1 Group 6, Donatella Relova-Clegg received silver, and Morgan Stein and Gabriella Breuker received bronze. In start 1 Group 6A, Hanna Chapman received silver.
In Star 6B boys, Owen Corley received merit. In Star 2 Group 5, Tabatha Taylor and Elysabeth Hillis received silver, and Samantha Kennes received bronze. In Star 2 Group 7, Nora Goeschick received silver. And in Introductory Interpretive performance, Emma Muller received silver.
From Cowichan Lake, Crystal Work and Callie Hartshorn both received merit in Star 1 Group 5.
