Duncan’s Station Street Gallery owner Linda Roseneck has gifted the grand prize of a spectacular antique shield dating back to 1510 for the IMCF world championships. She placed care of the shield with Blue Dragon captain Lucas Mendes to bring to the medieval fighting competition held in Valle De Silencio, La Marquesa, Mexico from May 2 to 5.

Roseneck’s Station Street Gallery located at 1-139 Station St. specializes in local art, custom framing, and medieval antiquities, from arms and armaments to furniture and stained glass. Mendes calls this gallery one of Duncan’s hidden gems and expressed his sincere gratitude for the generous donation.

The shield, which has been dubbed the ‘Roseneck Award’, is a perfect way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the IMCF. There will be 16 countries competing, and the antique shield will be awarded to the country that wins the most gold medals during the world championships and will be presented to the captain and representative of the triumphant country.

“This is the most significant grand prize ever awarded in the history of the IMCF, and it falls on the 10th year anniversary of the organization, which is really amazing,” said Mendes. “Its a phenomenal prize and we can’t thank Linda and the gallery enough for their donation. I hope the victor is as excited as we are.”
