Duncan Tai Chi group ready for Chinese New Year

Duncan’s Chen Yu Tai Chi Performance Troupe as they prepare for Victoria’s Chinese New Year Gala.

Rain, snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures won’t deter Duncan’s Chen Yu Tai Chi Performance Troupe as they prepare for Victoria’s Chinese New Year Gala.

The gala will celebrate Chinese New Year with music, dance, song, comedy, and drama and will feature modern and traditional performances by the Chinese community on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Royal Theatre.

The troupe’s instructor Lou Zheng has won numerous gold and silver medals in Chinese national sword competitions and is a 20th generation Chen Taijiquan master. The troupe practices outdoors year round.
