The Cowichan Intercultural Society is registering participants for another season of LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada.)

Classes provide basic and intermediate level English training for adults and are free to eligible new and returning students. LINC began on Tuesday.

LINC assists newcomers with four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Field trips and guest speakers make the classes interesting and help students learn about life in Canada, while providing opportunities to practice English.

Last year the program assisted over 60 participants build their English language skills, make community connections and adapt to life in Canada. Classes start in early September, but students may enrol at any time over the year.

The Cowichan Intercultural Society is the leading immigrant aid organization in the region.
