Island GM in Duncan steps up to assist grieving family

Cowichan businesses are rallying in support of the family of Wilder World

Cowichan businesses are rallying in support of the family of Wilder World, the toddler who was killed in the driveway of a home in Cobble Hill in June.

Island GM is hosting a Family Fun Day Fundraiser on Sunday, July 28 and other businesses have stepped up to help the dealership raise money for the family.

“This opportunity arose as we often discuss ways to support the community and to be involved,” explained Phillip Stibbs, marketing coordinator for Island GM.

“It was a chance for us to put on a fundraising event to support this family and also host a fun day for the community. We have been asking businesses to help support the family by donating towards our silent auction or in other ways. The support from the community has been incredible and we are really thankful for everyone’s support.”

Activities will include a bouncy castle, dunk tank, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, giant bowling, cake walk and a silent auction.

The Fun Day will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. More information can be found on Island GM’s Facebook page.

“We want to invite everyone out to enjoy some fun and support this family that tragically lost their little boy when he was hit and killed in a driveway,” adds Stibbs.

Island GM is located at 6300 Trans Canada Hwy., just south of Cowichan Commons shopping centre.
