Everyone was in a party mood Thursday in the building on Scott Road in the Tansor industrial estate as the Purica Foundation donated $130,000 to the Cowichan Hopsice Society.
The foundation had recently held a gala fundraising night, with a Roaring Twenties theme, and the big cheque was a result of the big success of that event. It was champagne all round as the two groups got together for a celebration, and the happy ending of a lot of hard work.
This was the Purica Foundation’s first charitable project, but watch out, they’ve got the bit in their teeth now and will be a force to be reckoned with in future, members say.
