Saturday, Aug. 12 was an exciting day for Youbou residents and friends.
The annual Youbou Regatta was back, offering a full day of family fun at Arbutus Park.
It all started with the parade, surely one of the shortest anywhere. But, it still draws a crowd of folks who know it’s only the start of all the events planned by Cowichan Lake Recreation and their team of volunteers.

Here’s a list of the winners from the parade:
Best homemade float and best commercial float: Youbou Community Association, Lifeguards, Lady of the Lake.
Best group: Cheerleaders Violet Luchtmeyer, Clair Anderson, Tayah Ford.
