After 27 years, CTRA gala takes one off

Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association has cancelled its 2014 gala dinner and auction.

The difficult decision came after the group's board of directors opted to save valuable staff and volunteer time for program delivery instead.

"Dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly on the Gala for many years also deserve and need a break," said Anne Muir, the CTRA's executive director. "We have decided that for 2014 we must focus on program delivery and the many projects involved in running our organization and maintaining a 100 year old barn!" While significant man-hours will be saved in opting out of the annual gala, the financial reasons the gala was important still remain.

"Our hope is that the spirit of generosity that has been present at the past 27 annual CTRA Galas is still strong and that you will still consider supporting us," Muir said.
