The 19th Annual Island Star Party is starting tonight (Friday, Aug. 22) and runs until Sunday, Aug. 24.
It all begins when the gates open at 4 p.m. Friday and again at the same time Saturday, ending at noon Sunday.
Cowichan Station is the perfect setting for the Cowichan Valley StarFinders Astronomy Societies Annual Island Star Party at Bright Angel Park.
This event, the club's annual outreach, includes great speakers, Saturday afternoon activities and evening lectures as well as giving the public the chance to look through telescopes and get a tour of the universe.
Camping is available as well as swimming and hiking. This is a rain or shine event.
The cost is $20 for adults or $30 for a family.
