Walk of the Nations takes place in May, but volunteers are being sought now.
Social Planning Cowichan is hosting the walk on May 31 in partnership with the Cowichan Intercultural Society and Hiiye’yu Lelum Society and volunteers are needed to make the event a success.
Volunteer coordinator Emma Koch is hoping that having more people involved will create an even better event.
“We are always looking for fresh ideas and it is important to have different people from the community working on building this vision together,” she said. “I know there are some great ideas out there that people may not have had the opportunity to share.”
This year’s walk committee is reaching out to invite new people to participate in both the organizing of walk events and in helping out during the event itself. Walk of the Nations is also looking for other contributions including food, sponsorships, tents and materials for kids stations.
