Cherry Point Artists are looking forward to displaying their newest works at their upcoming show and sale in Duncan on April 26 and 27.

The group shares their love of painting and drawing by meeting each Thursday morning at the Cowichan Exhibition Grounds. Started more than 50 years ago by a few dedicated artists the group has continued to flourish, said a press release for the event.

Throughout the year, from September to June, members participate in workshops to improve their techniques and develop their style.

“This past year we enjoyed a landscape workshop by Tom Shardlow, a pet portrait workshop by Zann Hemphill, both noted artists of Vancouver Island, along with in-house demonstrations of pen and ink, understanding perspective, new techniques with watercolour and a portrait workshop,” the release said.

Cherry Point Artists welcome anyone with an interest in pursuing art to visit their painting sessions on Thursdays. Information about membership will be available at the Cherry Point Art Show, or you can contact Sue Fenwick at sue.q01@gmail.com
