UPDATE: Lake Cowichan RCMP have advised that the boat in question has been located and that it was never stolen.
Police are asking the public to pass on any information they might have about a theft in Lake Cowichan last week.
Lake Cowichan RCMP are investigating the theft of a 12 foot aluminum boat that was taken from the beach area of Bayview Village between June 17 and 18. The boat is a Sears brand model and silver in colour.
