Duncan - I would like to thank all the people of the Cowichan Valley who came together to make it Merry Christmas for my oldest daughter and myself.
I would like to offer our prayers and support for all the children and families that are suffering from the tyranny of the Duncan branch of the Ministry of Children and Family Development. I would also like to thank and commend Patricia Dawn for her efforts to produce the documentary Stolen Hearts of Cowichan. There is a crisis in our province, that seems to be more pronounced in our community, of children being taken from their homes to support a system that profits from children being kept in foster homes. Some people are referring to this as the "new residential school crisis" as parents and the courts seem to be powerless to stop the absolute abuse of authority by MCFD workers.I would like to ask our Premier Christy Clark who was elected on the platform of being all about the family to step in and do something about this crisis which is costing the taxpayers many millions of dollars and destroying families.Stuart R.
