The first big rain has come and, as has become something of a tradition, Cowichan Bay Road has been closed due to flooding.
Mainroad South Island Contracting, the company tasked with the road’s maintenance, sent the notice Monday evening.
The closure runs between the Trans Canada Highway and Tzouhalem Road.
The north end of Tzouhalem Road, Bench Road and Koksilah Road are alternate routes into Cowichan Bay.
